Celine Dion and fashion

According to an article published on "W" fashion magazine, in September 2007, Celine Dion is one of the few celebrities
who prefer to acquire their fancy gowns the old-fashioned way - by buying them. Gilles Mendel, designer of J. Mendel,
insists that Dion has never even mentioned borrowing a dress from him. "It's really rare", he says of Celine's buy-only
policy. "It reveals a different personality. She is really classy".

That same magazine published this beautiful pictures of Celine, wearing Martin Margiela, Vera Wang, Lanvin, and Alberta
Ferretti dresses, and shoes by Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent.

A beautiful and extremely elegant Celine Dion performed at the 79th Academy Awards ceremony on February 25th.
This was Celine's sixth performance at the Oscar-ceremony, what makes her the only singer who performed so many times at
the event.

Celine wore three different dresses by James Gallanos (the red carpet), J. Mendel (performing "I Knew I Loved You"
at the ceremony), and Lanvin (Vanity Fair party):

On August 4, 2007, Celine Dion wore this beautiful Chloé dress to the Sainte-Justine Hospital Centennial Gala, at the Bell Centre, in Montreal.

Grammy Awards 2002To the 2002 Grammy Awards ceremony, in Los Angeles, Celine Dion wore an original Christian Dior dress designed by John Galliano, that was made from a belt, and Manolo Blahnik shoes.

The infamous "reverse" Celine at the 1999 Academy Awards...

Oscars 1999In February 1999 the singer turned her back on a white suit that was designed to be worn that way.

A fashion-forward look meant a "backward" coat and a sly fedora designed by John Galliano, from the House of Christian Dior.

That now iconic suit sparked round of Dion-in-Dior jokes that snowballed, and even was led Celine Dion
to be considered the
worst dressed celebrity of the ceremony. It should be noted, however, that fashion critic from "The International Herald
Tribune" was a fan and that "Women's Wear Daily" applauded Dion's chutzpah.

With Andrea Bocelli, singing "The Prayer", at the Oscars 1999In January 2000, Celine was named by fashion maven Richard
Blackwell, the second worst dressed celebrity of the world, because of this reverse white tuxedo. He had added,
"Celine Dion: The question is direction. In her backward tuxedo there's no way of knowing whether Diva Dion is coming
or going: a profusion of confusion".

More consensual was the white dress that she wore on stage singing "The Prayer", in duet with Andrea Bocelli.

In 2008, Celine Dion wore this beautiful green dress by Christian Dior, and jewels from Van Cleef & Arpels, at an event.

At the World Music Awards 2007 ceremony, in Monaco, Celine Dion wore this Versace dress:

Celine Dion attended to the Billboard Awards 2003 wearing this yellow Roberto Cavalli outfit.

She obtained the attentions of the crowd with her sympathy, but her dress and hairstyle were quite criticized.

In November 2007, Celine Dion was invited to sing the major hit "My Heart Will Go On", at the Happy Birthday BAFTA ceremony,
in England. Celine was dressed by Versace.

Yves Saint-Laurent, the stunning black dress used by Celine on September 15, 2004 to received the Diamond Award,
for the best selling female artist ever, the at "World Music Awards", in Las Vegas. This dress cost $28,000.

At the Millennium Concert, in Montreal, marking not only the change of year 1999/2000, but also the beginning of
a hiatus on her career, Celine Dion wore this Versace.

On November 1, 1998, Celine Dion was the star of "L'Adisq Awards".

She sung three times at the ceremony - "Terre", "Ma Chambre" and "Une chance qu'on s'a", in duet with Jean-Pierre
Ferland, and stunned everybody with a perfect voice and a beautiful dress designed by Hervé Lèger.

During the "Let's Talk About Love Tour", in 1999, Celine Dion wore this beautiful red dress by Ralph Lauren,
on her North-America concerts. Fans loved it!
